This field of study includes various degree programmes, from agricultural sciences, forestry and horticulture to nutritional sciences and beverage technology.

Natural science subjects such as botany, zoology, chemistry and physics play an important role in this field of study, depending on the specialisation. The course content also includes economics and business administration. In agricultural sciences, the basics of social sciences are added.

Ecological aspects and the sustainable management of rural areas are becoming increasingly important.

An average to good knowledge of mathematics and natural sciences, the ability to plan and organise, mechanical and technical understanding, commercial thinking and the ability to make contacts and cooperate are required for a degree in agricultural, forestry and nutritional sciences. The professional requirements include a certain degree of physical resilience.
