Result of the allocation of study places

You will find out whether or not you have been successful in gaining a place at university by means of an admission letter or rejection letter. It is understandable that a rejection is unpleasant. However, acceptances can also be problematic if they lead to tricky decisions.

Many prospective students also apply in parallel for degree programmes that do not participate in the Hochschulstart allocation procedure. 

This can lead to problems if the letters of admission are sent out on different dates and applicants - without knowing the result of all applications - have to declare by a certain deadline whether they accept a place.

To ensure that you can submit the required declaration of acceptance of a study place and enrol within the specified deadline, you should make sure that you remain reachable in the weeks following the application deadline.
