On hochschulstart.de you can apply for a specific degree programme at several universities at the same time. This increases your chances of admission and allows you to prioritise your preferences.
You often have the opportunity to apply for different degree programmes at a single university. However, please note that, depending on the university, there may be restrictions on the maximum number of applications you can submit. It is best to enquire with the university in advance.
You can submit up to twelve applications for the nationwide allocation of study places (in human medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine and pharmacy) as well as for other locally admission-restricted and occasionally admission-free degree programmes coordinated by the SfH. A special feature of nationally restricted degree programmes is that you can list all universities that offer a particular degree programme. These local entries count as a single study programme. For example, if you apply for all four nationally admission-restricted degree programmes in the winter semester, you will still have eight more study options (regardless of the number of locations listed).
To apply, you first register on the hochschulstart.de online portal. There you enter your details in an area specially set up for degree programmes with nationwide admission restrictions. You then send your documents by post to the Stiftung für Hochschulzulassung (SfH). You can find detailed information on the procedure and other important information at www.hochschulstart.de.
Please note: Not all restricted-admission degree programmes are coordinated by the SfH. Therefore, check carefully whether your desired degree programme is one of them!
If there is a (local) admission restriction for the degree programme of your choice, you must apply to the relevant university or via the DoSV application portal of the Foundation for University Admission (www.hochschulstart.de)…
Hochschulstart supports the universities in carrying out their local selection procedures through the dialogue-oriented service procedure (DoSV). However, applicants for degree programmes with nationwide admission restrictions…

Hint
In connection with the application process at Hochschulstart, it is also important that the documents/evidence to be submitted are sent to Hochschulstart by post as soon as possible after the electronic application(s) have been submitted. In the event of any deficiencies or similar, there is still enough time before the end of the application phase to make formal corrections and/or make subsequent deliveries on time.
