For years the US media landscape is going through a huge transformation. Regional newspapers shrink or disappear completely, big private broadcasters, talk radios and social media dominate the narratives. Their business models rest on clicks and ratings which leads to divisive reporting and toxic language to generate attention. As a result the rift that runs through society deepens. We will look into this development and compare it to Germany.
